Apples and Baninis :)

You're four and half now, and the best news we've had in a while is that you've actually learnt how to chew.

Now this simple milestone for many has troubled you for the longest time. Mummy thought that this happened perhaps because your jaws were never exercised enough being premature and bottle fed. But with every bit that you accomplished on every other milestone, you still didn't chew ....a fact that put you off from being adventurous or curious about food. Only preferring your mushed up rice and oats and cereal for all this time causing so much scrutiny and embarassment when others would remark abt their tiny babies already graduating to chewing solid food.

But all those mildly traumatizing memories are soon fading with every piece of apple that your amazing teacher insists you eat every single day. And the fact that she has so persistently worked with you after class and taught you right from how to chew while making no fuss or judgement about your abilities makes her someone I'd be ever grateful to.

And now, my sweetheart...you love pancakes and dosas and iglis and even burgers :)

My heart leaps with exceitement when you ask for some of the cake I've baked or when you enjoy a piece of eggie from my dinner plate.

Small as this accomplishement may be, I want it to remind you always that you can do and succeed at anything you set your heart to. And if there's anything I want to commit my life to, it would be to remain your most fervent cheerleader.
